Candlewick — CPSIA Regulations

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CPSIA

Many of you have contacted Candlewick to address questions and concerns regarding recent changes to CPSIA regulations and safety testing. Section 105 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act requires a cautionary statement for certain products that are advertised on internet websites or in catalogs and printed materials.

In order to meet this requirement, please provide the attached letter and list of Candlewick titles to your customers. The letter and list should be provided to each key or major account contact with a request for them to forward to their legal department.

This letter and list address ONLY that section of the new act that deals with notification on choking hazard titles. It does not deal with new lead, phthalates testing requirements etc. Candlewick is addressing those questions on a customer by customer basis as this point (reviewing and completing customer specific forms). Candlewick is also willing to have a verbal conversation with the heads of rep groups to review what we are doing. An official statement will be available sometime in the next month or so.
